Our Story

Chaambis is more than just a bakery; it is the story of a family, a journey, and a dream that started from scratch. As first-generation immigrants, we arrived in the U.S. with a deep love for our Algerian heritage and a desire to share it with the Cache Valley community. The heart of our story is Fares, who was just 12 years old when our business saw the light. His passion for connecting with people and sharing the rich flavors of Algeria sparked the idea that would bring our family together in an unexpected way.

Our mother, whose hands have perfected the art of traditional Algerian baking, became the backbone of Chaambis, creating every pastry with love and authenticity. Our father, having traveled to over 50 countries, brought a global perspective that helped shape our vision. Hadjer, the woman behind Chaambis and a graduate student at Utah State University, took on the role of turning our passion into a business, determined to leave a meaningful mark on the community through food.

We believe that food is more than just nourishment; it is a bridge between cultures, a way to tell stories, and a means to bring people together. Every cookie, pastry, and biscuit we make carries the warmth of home and the richness of Algerian tradition. By sharing our handmade, authentic baked goods, we hope to offer Cache Valley a taste of our heritage and create connections that go beyond the kitchen.
